A TIME IN MUMBAI DOBAARA

BoxofficeVerdict-Flop
OUATIMD proved to be a rare sequel to disappoint at box office and managed almost similar collections as prequel 3 years back. Film is even struggling for 2 cr nett 3rd weekend.

Film collected poor 40 lakh nett on 3rd Friday followed by 45 lakhs on 3rd Saturday taking total collection to 61 cr nett plus. Film has lost majority of screens in 3rd week and will finish with 63-64 cr nett lifetime total which is simply shocking.

Film will be huge loss making proposition for Bala Ji, minimum in tune of 25-30 cr. This is a first majordisappointment from Milan - Rajat director writer pair after super hits "The Dirty Picture" and OUATIM

Overall Performance

The film had a very good opening with 100% occupancy in theatres especially in DelhiMumbaiPunjabUttar Pradesh and Hyderabadowing to release on a national holiday on the eve of Independence Day.[Due to the limited availability of screens (approximately 1000), Balaji Motion Pictures negotiated with the makers of Chennai Express to free up 1000 more screens on Friday to accommodate 2700 screens for Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara!. Despite a low number of screens, the film went on to earn INR90 million(US$1.4 million) nett on its opening day. However, due to heated competition with Chennai Express, the film only managed to collectINR366.40 million (US$5.8 million) over its extended four-day weekend, which was considered a poor figure. Earnings dropped on Monday, collecting INR40 million (US$640,000).The film managed to show growth on Tuesday and Wednesday due to Raksha Bandhan, collecting INR85 million (US$1.4 million) on both days. The film collected INR510.90 million (US$8.1 million) on its extended first week. On its second weekend, however, the film witnessed a huge drop of nearly 90%, collecting only INR45 million (US$720,000) and bringing up its total to INR555 million (US$8.8 million). The film collected INR70 million (US$1.1 million) over its second week, bringing up its total to INR580 million (US$9.2 million). Despite this, it was officially declared a "Flop" by Box Office India. The film also did not perform well at overseas, collecting only $1.55 million on its first weekend
